About the artist

b. 1931, Södermanland

Sivert Lindblom is a Swedish sculptor and artist who completed his studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 1963. Early in his career he drew inspiration from Auguste Rodin, before moving towards abstract and concept-based work with installations and architectural elements. He taught at the School of Architecture in the late 1960s, is a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the National Board of Public Art, and was Professor of Sculpture at the School of Art in Stockholm. He has carried out a large number of public commissions in collaboration with leading architects, and received the Sergel Prize from the Academy in 1995.
