Sivert Lindblom's "image-statues" TENSION between design and mystery
"IMAGE-STATUES" is what Sivert Lindblom calls the thirteen sculptures he is exhibiting at Gallery Aronowitsch. Materially, these are image-statues that, in the background, offer him the opportunity to transcend them and see them from another side. That the sculptures are image-statues is clear — but the artistic forms Lindblom presents are of a different kind.
Sivert Lindblom's sculptures are not materially crude but largely present another side. That the sculptures tell us what they are, what they mean, and how they can be used in a better context with better design. Lindblom has now concluded his characterization with a more nuanced form.
The exhibition displays Lindblom's sculptures from the 70s with a sculptural plasticity of great originality, a large and simple form that demonstrates his ability to create sculptures of great dignity and simple precision. … | …
