The Eskilstuna Roundabout – the Obelisk "The Profile", 2002

In 2002, Sivert received Eskilstuna-Kuriren's culture prize together with Björn Norman for their redesign of Eskilstuna's city center. Their implemented proposal was to connect the city center down towards the Eskilstuna River's water surface with a traffic roundabout featuring a tall pillar in the middle of a water basin, surrounded by several associative sub-objects that allude to the city's history.

In the water basin, one can see S:t Eskil, the patron saint of Södermanland, standing on a slab with a number of stones. These represent his tragic fate after being stoned to death (year 1080).
From the chimney of the steamboat, Eskilstuna II, which traveled to Stockholm, water sprays instead of steam engine smoke.
In another part of the basin, one can see one of the city's historical prides: the first locomotive built and used in Sweden (1853) – "Förstlingen" – where water also sprays from its chimney.

The observant viewer will find many historical components and time markers in the fountain's various sculptures and arrangements. See if you can find – the blacksmith's anvil!
The pillar has been popularly named "The Profile" because it is constructed from a large number of composite castings of Sivert's own profile, stacked in layers.
The castings of the various parts for the embellishment of the Roundabout were made by Skånska Klock- & Konstgjuteriet AB in Hammenhög under the direction of Ulf Ferrius.

Every major change in the cityscape elicits opinions in both directions. The process involving the traffic junction with the roundabout and its artistic design was no exception. The entire project was discussed within the community. Initially, it was quite controversial, but over time, perceptions have changed.
