A long brick wall along the staircase, created as part of a public commission at Gustav Adolf Parish Home in Borås. The work was made in collaboration with Olle Adrin and represents Lindblom's early exploration of the architectural integration of artistic elements.
At that time, Olle was a kind of mentor to Sivert.
In this context, it is worth writing a few lines about Olle Adrin (1918–1988). Olle, like Sivert, attended Tekniska skolan. When it was founded in 1879, the school was called Slöjdskolan, before it was reorganized and given a broader, artistic-technical orientation. In 1953, the school changed its form again and came to be called Konstfackskolan, later becoming Kungliga Konsthögskolan (KKH), often written Kungl. Konsthögskolan, or more popularly "Mejan". Today it is a Swedish state university with premises at Flaggmansvägen 1 on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.
One of Olle's early works is "Sinnenas ledstång", a well-known tactile artwork. It was originally created for Blindinstitutet (Tomtebodaskolan) in Solna.
It is a 50-meter-long wall fresco designed from a variety of different materials and forms. As the work is tactile, it is particularly aimed at people with visual impairments. It allows visitors to follow the work with their hands to feel different textures, shapes, and patterns.
For many Stockholmers, Olle Adrin is perhaps best known for his memorial monument on Södermalm. There is also perhaps his most beloved creation, "Vi ses vid målet", a stainless steel tribute to the footballer Nacka Skoglund from Södermalm. There, football lovers gather every Christmas Eve to honor Nacka's memory, with a Hammarby scarf around their necks and roses in the arms of Olle Adrin's sculpture.
"Vi ses vid målet" is placed in "Nackas Hörna", at the intersection of Brännerigatan – Katarina Bangata, where Nacka is said to have grown up.
What should be added is that Olle and Sivert were friends throughout their lives and that Sivert's sculptures are very tactile in their execution and are meant to be perceived tactilely with the gaze.
