Essay·1973SV
Om Galerie Buren 1973
Beate Sydhoff
Galerie Buren, Stockholm
Beate Sydhoff writes about Sivert Lindblom's exhibition at Galerie Buren, 1973.
The exhibition "Proposed Measures" at Galerie Buren in 1973 was one of the most radical conceptual projects in Stockholm during the 1970s. Lindblom presented a series of "proposals" — objects and texts suggesting interventions in urban space without executing them.
This is art that works with potentiality — with what could be done, not with what has been done. A sculpture can be a proposal as much as an object.
