Förord, Skulptur, Lunds Konsthall

Cecilia Nelson, director of Lunds Konsthall, writes the preface for the exhibition catalogue "Sculpture" 1993 — a joint exhibition with the Skissernas Museum showing Sivert Lindblom's sculptural work across two decades.

Presenting an artistic practice of Sivert Lindblom's scope and complexity in a single context is a challenge. Lunds Konsthall has chosen to focus on sculpture as primary expression — not as decoration or complement to architecture, but as an independent art form with its own inner laws.

The line is clear: Lindblom has always sought the essential, that which cannot be reduced further without disappearing. We are proud to present this retrospective picture of one of the most important sculptural works of twentieth-century Sweden.
