Sivert Lindblom at Lunds Konsthall – a long-awaited meeting has become reality. In this meeting, much will become visible: two art forms, architecture and sculpture, will, with their distinct languages, both interact and clarify their respective expressions. Sculptures from 30 years of work are shown in the exhibition. For the public, this means an opportunity to gain an overview of Sivert Lindblom's artistry for the first time and thereby become aware of his place in contemporary Swedish art life. A presentation of Sivert Lindblom's artistic work would be incomplete if the sketches for his extensive public works were not also shown. In Lund, this is now possible through a collaboration with Skissernas Museum and their exhibition Skulptur – Arkitektur. The exhibition title IBID, once used, could therefore be used again, IBID "in the same place". Allow me to be a little personal. Experiences one has just when stepping into adulthood can acquire a special intensity and strength that never leaves one. It is a strength that can only be compared to a child's first-time experiences. The encounter with Sivert Lindblom's art was like that for me. During a period of mourning, the sculptures gave me the opportunity to see the present in the absent. It is with the greatest pleasure that we welcome Sivert Lindblom to Lunds Konsthall. Sivert, together with his wife Marianne, has carried out an outstanding fundraising effort, both for the exhibition and for the catalogue. For all good cooperation, a warm thank you! We also wish to extend a warm thank you to all those, institutions and private owners, who have generously made their works available. The collaboration with the director of Skissernas Museum, Jan Torsten Ahlstrand, has been very good. It is therefore that we can now jointly present Sivert Lindblom as one of our most significant sculptors – through the two exhibitions and the two catalogues, which for the first time summarize his artistry.
