Blasieholms torg

Ingmar Unge
Dagens Nyheter

Ingmar Unge writes about the inauguration of Blasieholmstorg and Sivert Lindblom's horse sculptures in Dagens Nyheter, 1989.

Blasieholmstorg has found a face. Sivert Lindblom's horses — cast by Herman Bergman's Konstgjuteri AB in patinated bronze — are an addition to Stockholm's cityscape of a rarely seen kind.

It is rare to see public art that works on every level: aesthetic, historical, urban. The horses have a natural gravitas that does not depend on their size but on their formal language — a concentrated energy that gives each form its necessity. Stockholm is richer for these horses.
