Stockholm has received its finest public sculpture in decades. Sivert Lindblom's green-patinated bronze horses at Blasieholmstorg fill the windswept square with an energy and presence that transforms the entire place.

What impresses is the balance: the horses are monumental but never overwhelming, historical but never museological. They live in their new setting with a self-evidence that is the artist's achievement and Stockholm's good fortune.
