After all the group exhibitions, it feels good to once again see a display arranged with great care at Vadsbo Museum in Mariestad. The small venue, which otherwise tends to be filled to bursting point by the disparate overflow of traveling exhibitions, currently boasts a calm and sparsely hung display, interspersed with sculpture that has been given both air and light around it.
Both Sivert Lindblom and Ulrik Samuelson are expressionists but have a very particular approach to their material, i.e., to clay and paint, respectively. They no longer feel as earlier artists so often did: as the sovereign masters of the material, who used it for any illusionistic trick – they are collaborators with the material. … | …
