With Galleri Östergren's grand opening in Malmö on October 10, 1969, the gallerists Bo Alveryd and Jan Östergren made the following announcement:
"Galleri Östergren opens! A gallery's face is its exhibitors – We want to show ours! Redovisning – 69 features works by the SWEDISH exhibitors of the coming years. Questions will be asked – Why only established artists? – Why not so-and-so? etc. – The choices have been made.
Here is the result. Had we had an art gallery, the exhibition might have been more comprehensive. Thanks to all artists. Thanks to Folke. The works are for sale. Welcome!"
In addition to Sivert Lindblom, the exhibition included: Torsten Andersson, Ola Billgren, Zoltán von Boér, Lars Englund, Roj Friberg, Bert-Johnny Nilsson, Ulf Ramberg, Uno Svensson, Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd, Pär Gunnar Thelander, Ulrik Samuelsson, Per Olof Ultvedt, Rolf E. Wilhelmson and Anders Österlin.
In catalog no. 1, Folke Edwards wrote so-called "Euforismer" which were highly readable and filled with subtle reflections and associations about the artist behind the works.
