"Sivert used to return to Körsbärsgården on Gotland. The place, down in Sundre on southern Sudret, became one of the environments on the island that he had a special relationship with. Here were art, the garden, the cultivations, and rural life – a place to return to, both as an artist and as a summer Gotlander.
Sivert and Marianne had for many years had a strong connection to Gotland and one of their studios on the island. That Sivert got to exhibit at Körsbärsgården, and moreover had his works represented in the permanent sculpture park, must therefore have been something very special. He also returned with exhibitions during several summers, including 2007 and 2010.
Körsbärsgården is one of those places one gladly returns to. When the roads lead through Sudret anyway, perhaps on the way to Hoburgsgubben at the very south of the island, it is well worth stopping in Sundre. Here one can wander through the garden and among the cultivations, see the art, sit down at the café and eat something good – perhaps finish with one of the appreciated pastries.
