In 1962, Sivert had his first exhibition, together with fellow artist Ulrik Samuelson, who would later become his collaborator for many years. At the exhibition, Sivert showed, among other things, the bronze figures Untitled (100 cm) and Venus (98 cm), which he had executed three years earlier, in 1959.

With these sculptures, he established himself as one of the innovative free sculptors of his generation – artists who sought new paths and freed themselves from the formal language that had dominated sculpture since Auguste Rodin's breakthrough. Sivert's figures already show here a striving for a freer and more independent artistic expression, where the traditional figurative form is re-evaluated and given a new rendering.

August Rodin: "I use the language of the people, words from everyday speech, for thoughts should be clear and easy to grasp. I wish to be understood by the great majority and leave learned words and unusual expressions to specialists in aesthetics. Furthermore, what I say is very simple. It lies within the reach of ordinary intelligence. Hitherto it has hardly been appreciated. It is something entirely new, and it will always be so, as long as the ideas I advocate are not put into practice."
