Catharina Gabrielsson, architectural researcher and writer, contributes an essay to the catalogue "WATERCOLOURS – and more", 2012.

Sivert Lindblom's watercolours are neither architectural projects nor pure images — they are something in between. The axonometric projection frees the image from the viewer's position: there is no centre, no external perspective. One is always inside, always surrounded by the structure.

Gabrielsson places the watercolours in relation to a modernist tradition of constructive thinking, but emphasises that Lindblom is not a constructivist in the ordinary sense — his constructions are too impossible, too organic, too free.
