Peter Cornell— Författare och konstkritiker
Katalog Kungl. Konstakademien
Peter Cornell, professor of art history, writes about Sivert Lindblom's watercolours in the catalogue for the exhibition "WATERCOLOURS – and more" at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Stockholm, 2012.
Lindblom's watercolours are constructive visions — not of anything existing but of possible worlds. He builds his images using axonometric projection and unmarked pigments, a kind of mental constructivism that Cornell describes as a "hermetic architectural landscape".
The hundred works shown at the Academy in 2012, over seventy linear metres of wall, were the result of systematic work since 1975. Each watercolour is a unique object that is simultaneously part of a series — a journey through an imaginary architectural space.
