The summer's main exhibition at Vandalorum in 2016 was a solo presentation by Sivert. The exhibition, which filled Vandalorum's Barn 1, presented sculptures, installations, and watercolors from the 1960s up to the opening day.
"Since the beginning of his career, Sivert has explored how the two-dimensional line can be transformed into a three-dimensional form. His unique form language is characterized by an almost timeless expression, with references to both classicism and the form language of modern industry. Often, the abstract forms originate from his own profile. The exhibition can also be seen as a conclusion to Sivert's active work of staging his own exhibitions.
An interest in architecture permeates Sivert's entire oeuvre. He has worked with some of Sweden's foremost architects, first for Sigurd Lewerentz and subsequently in close collaboration with Peter Celsing, including public artistic environments throughout the country. Architecture has thus not only been an important reference in his art but also a concrete part of his artistic work.
Sivert was as much a sculptor and visual artist as he was a craftsman. Over the years, he spent countless hours in workshops and industries, where he meticulously studied how different materials were refined and transformed. A central ambition in his artistry was to demystify the artistic process by highlighting its similarities with industrial manufacturing.
The interest in material, process, and craftsmanship thus became an important link between his artistic and industrial experiences. This view of art also characterized his approach to exhibitions. The exhibition at Vandalorum was designed and staged by himself, in line with his view of each exhibition as an installation where the sculptures interact with each other, the space, and the audience." /JÖ
