Nobelmonumentet i New York placerades i Theodore Roosevelt Park och invigdes den 14 oktober 2003 med New Yorks borgmästare Bloomberg närvarande.
Monumentet i röd granit från Sverige är ett av Sivert Lindbloms mest internationellt uppmärksammade offentliga verk. Det kombinerar sin mastodontiska geometriska form med symboliska element kopplade till Alfred Nobels betydande arv och prisets internationella karaktär. Varje år tillförs endast namnen på de amerikanska nobelpristagarna.
Det mest oväntade namnet är Bob Dylan, som fick Nobelpriset 2016. Han fick utmärkelsen av Svenska Akademin med motiveringen: "för att ha skapat nya poetiska uttryck inom den stora amerikanska sångtraditionen."
The Nobel Monument was erected in 2003 as a joint project initiated and overseen by the Consulate General of Sweden and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation to honor all American Nobel Laureates and Alfred Nobel, the founder of the Nobel Prize. It is the only Monument in New York City parks that features the names of living persons. Every year, the names of the American Nobel Laureates from the previous year are inscribed onto the Monument and unveiled at an annual ceremony.
The Nobel Monument Dedication Ceremony took place on October 14, 2003 in the presence of Mayer of New York City Michael R. Bloomberg, Deputy Prime Minister of Sweden Margareta Winberg, H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Consul General of Sweden Olle Wästberg, Science Advisor to President Bush and Director of the Office of Science and Technology Dr. John Marburger III, Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe, Nobel Laureate Eric Kandel and the designer of the Monument Sivert Lindblom.
